Ongoing
Investigating the Epistemic Impact of Historical Representations in Wargames
A 9 month research project with the University of Glasgow’s Games and Gaming Lab investigating the impact on player decision-making of specific representations of historical fact in wargames, and the consequences for the use of wargames as analytical tools.
Heuristics of AI-DSS in the Military
This started as a supervised research project during the 2024 ISI programme by the Cambridge Security Initiative with the paper: Heuristics of Artificial Intelligence Decision Support Systems in the Military. A wargaming methodology. While momentarily on the back-burner, this is still a main focus of my activity.
Terminated
Groundings PG
The first ever volume of Groundings Postgraduate, a new interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal in the arts, humanities and social sciences. It is published by the Glasgow University Union, with financial and academic backing from the University of Glasgow, to showcase the best of the University’s postgraduate research.
(Unfortunately the project did not get to the publication stage due to resource constraints and issues with sourcing the internal academic advisory board)
AI Personas
AI Personas is a defunct research project that ran for the first half of 2024 at the University of Glasgow’s Games and Gaming Lab jointly led by Leonard Haselhuhn and myself, under supervision from Dr. Timothy Peacock. It aimed to investigate the potential generation and misuse of AI based avatars to impersonate individuals.
La Geopolitica delle Risorse was a short conference cycle on resource geopolitics (energy, food, and other resources), organized by SIR in early 2023.
