Welcome!
I’m a researcher and consultant with an interest in all things technology and security. This site showcases what I’m exploring and where my work has taken me. You’ll find the ideas I’m developing, the problems I’m helping solve, and the areas of technology and defence that occupy most of my time. Currently I’m working with the University of Glasgow’s Games and Gaming Lab as an affiliate researcher and I’m a freelance consultant in association with London Politica.

Research
I work at the intersection of technology, security, and decision-making, focusing on how AI and emerging disruptive technologies shape defence and security contexts. Current projects explore human-AI interaction in critical military and security settings, cognition and decision-making in wargames. Beyond these projects, I’m interested in the broader forces shaping current security policy, including private influence in defence, narratives around AI and AGI, and their impact on strategy, procurement, and governance. I also investigate defence, intelligence, and security studies more broadly, covering MENA/SWANA , EU and international institutions, democratic resilience, and the societal effects of disinformation and emerging technologies.
Consulting
I provide independent expertise across various dimensions of security and innovation, with a focus on digital and emerging disruptive technologies in security and defence. I provide support with technology assessment, EDTs and digitalization policies, and strategic forecasting to navigate today’s complex and fast-evolving global environment.

Ongoing projects
Investigating the Epistemic Impact of Historical Representations in Wargames
A 9 month research project with the University of Glasgow’s Games and Gaming Lab investigating the impact on player decision-making of specific representations of historical fact in wargames, and the consequences for the use of wargames as analytical tools.
Heuristics of AI-DSS in the Military
This started as a supervised research project during the 2024 ISI programme by the Cambridge Security Initiative with the paper: Heuristics of Artificial Intelligence Decision Support Systems in the Military. A wargaming methodology. While momentarily on the back-burner, this is still a main focus of my activity.
